We are pleased to introduce one of the latest innovations in electronic paper displays (E-Ink), the GDEW0213I5F is a 2.13″ 212 x 104 resolution flexible display. The traditional glass substrate has now been replaced by an ultra thin plastic substrate making the display extremely thin at only 0.3mm however a anti-glare hard coat protects the front of the display from scuffs and scratches.
The display is highly reflective and its black characters or icons on a light grey background produce a very high contrast plus with 180° degree viewing angles on both the X and Y axis allowing the display to be clearly viewed in both portrait and landscape orientations without any loss of image or image quality even in high ambient light conditions.

The GDEW0213I5F as with all E-Paper displays benefits from extremely low power consumption, with power only being used whilst the display is being updated and even then its very low at only 26.4mW with a current draw of less than 8mA, however once the display has been updated you can switch off all power, the display draws nothing but the image remains. The display also supports a power standby mode which is still extremely low at just 0.0165mW with a current draw of 5µA.
The module includes a COG style on-board IC which provides the increasingly popular 4 or 3 line SPI interface, an on-chip display RAM, on-chip oscillator, Gate and Source buffers, timing control logic, DC-DC converter, SRAM, LUT, VCOM and Border.
