Here at Craft Data we truly believe that our new range of stretch, bar type or letterbox/landscape format TFT LCD from our partner CDTECH could be the answer to many OEM manufacturers problems when thinking about replacing your monochrome LCD with a colour upgrade.
There is a huge array of STN monochrome LCD modules available from a host of manufacturers (from ourselves Powertip & Bolymin), whilst there are some square or portrait mode displays the bulk are in the letterbox or landscape format. With a limited supply of small colour displays in this format the transition from mono to colour can be a daunting thought, yes we know that the drive electronics will differ from mono to colour but we now have to fit a portrait mode colour display into a box that that used to take a landscape mode display. If we can find a display that fits the height of the box generally the width is a lot narrower so the whole look of your product is different, maybe this a good thing but in many instances not. Our 3.9″, 480 x 128 resolution, 3.8:1 aspect ratio stretch TFT LCD could be the solution for your colour upgrade.
The module has an overall dimension of 105.5 x 40.64 x 2.95mm with a active area of 95.04 x 25.34mm and can be supplied both with and without a 4W RTP. It has a built-in white LED backlight delivering a brightness of 500cd/m² which we believe pushes this panel into the high brightness bracket and coupling this with a contrast ratio of 500:1 the panel delivers a good optical performance. It has a 24 bit RGB interface and has the on-board driver IC ILI6480 which is capable of producing up to 16.7M colours.
