Introduction
Sometimes the simplest of design hacks can make all the difference, this is how we feel about of XP-P3301B 3″ mobile/portable thermal label printer. Unique to this 3″ printer is the media ejection port i.e. where the printer label or receipt comes out of the printer, by having this along the printer’s bottom edge helps to prevent the ingress of dust/dirt and moisture. With the bulk of the competitions printer’s media ejection ports being on the top, naturally dust/dirt can build up along the head’s heating elements slowly impairing the print performance and also the possibility a liquid being split onto the top of the printer and gaining access to the inner workings via the print out slot. The flatter upper case which completely opens up to give access to the large paper tray capable of holding a 50mm roll diameter gives a more flatter paper/label ejection path, reducing the chance of paper/label jamming.
The matt black printer sports a fast print speed of 70mm/sec and has a maximum print width of 72mm. Internal baffles within the paper tray allow adjustment to enable paper rolls of different sizes (40~80mm) to be used. A 0.96″ 128×64 resolution OLED display gives users information on the printers status plus allows them to see any changes they make during the setup procedure. Connectivity is via USB (type C connector) + Bluetooth or optional WiFi ,the printer’s Li-ion battery pack can also charged via a USB port. This is a semi-rugged printer which can take some rough handling and can withstand an impact onto hard flooring from a height of 1.5M.
