Introduction
Bar Type or stretch displays are now available in more size options that can now solve OEM product designers problems of finding a compact display to fit those awkward narrow spaces that previously had them using multiple small displays for control and status read outs etc.. All these separate components generally complicated the design and added to a large BOM. Now with the availability of this growing range of bar type displays all the necessary machine control, status and functionality can be delivered on a single display.
The latest addition to our range is the 4.0″ KD040QHFPD047-C039A display from our partner Startek. The module is an IPS all view panel which allows it to be used in both landscape and portrait orientations without the loss of image quality or colour, it features a high resolution of 400(RGB) x 960 pixels and has wide viewing angles of 85°/85°/85°/85°. The optical performance of the display is further enhanced by a 1100:1 contrast ratio, a 450cd/m² brightness and a 16.7M colour palette, with these attributes designers can create a dynamic and vibrant GUI. The module includes the Sitronix controller/driver IC ST7701S which offers users the choice of either SPI or 16/18/24 Bit RGB interface options plus usability is further increased with the addition of an optically bonded 5-point + gestures multi-touch projected capacitive touch overlay with I²C interface.
