Introduction
New from partner DWIN Technology comes their 4.12″ Square IPS TFT with Incell Capacitive Touch. The square shape creates a modern look and is aesthetically pleasing plus the incell technology whilst previously only really seen in mobile phone displays is now becoming available on the industrial display range, to the benefit of OEM product designers.
“Incell” in it’s most basic description refers to the technique of incorporating the capacitive touch technology within the TFT LCD cell i.e. no cover lens required. The result is a very thin, high contrast ratio display with excellent colour saturation and a great performance in outdoor or very high ambient light applications due to the reduction in the number of reflections between the different layers of glass usually found within a standard TFT with CTP module structure.
The 4.12″ module features a 720(RGB)x 720 resolution within an active area of 73.98(H) x 73.98(V)mm and has an “All View” viewing direction plus ultrawide viewing angles of 85°/85°/85°/85°. It’s optical performance is further enhanced by a 1200:1 contrast ratio, a 350 nit brightness, a 16.7M colour palette and a high colour gamut of 70%. The module has an MIPI interface (Mobile Industry Processor Interface) for the display and an I²C interface for the touch however both connections are incorporated onto the same FPC connection reducing the BOM costs.
