Introduction
Stretch, Bar or Letterbox format TFT LCD are fast becoming key display formats within the OEM product market due to their fit and form. With many OEM products still using a monochrome LCD, whether this be a character or graphic module the format invariably is letterbox which can make the move to a colour display a headache as many of the colour displays are just too big on the vertical measurement. Bar versions can alleviate the problem as they are narrow but wide, so their footprint can be very close to the monochrome display, potentially saving costs on the mechanical design.
Our 4.6″ TFT (S046QWV11HS) is starting to become a popular choice as it packs in a high resolution of 800×320 in just a 108.0 x 43.20mm active area and with overall dimensions of 120.7 x 56.16 x 3.1mm it is well & truly compact! The module has a high brightness of 550cd/m² making it suitable for high ambient light applications plus a contrast ratio of 600:1 and a 24-Bit RGB interface allowing a colour palette of 16.7M colours further enhances the panels optical performance. To increase the module’s functionality the panel can also be supplied with either a 5-Point multi-touch CTP or 4-Wire Resistive RTP.
