Craft Data are pleased to be able to introduce to the UK market the latest 5.0″ TFT LCD, this WVGA (800 x 480 resolution) LCD incorporates the latest in optical technology making it highly desirable for a host applications requiring a display that needs to deliver an extremely high optical performance. The standard display is now fitted with what is known in the industry as “O-Film”, with this film fitted within the LCD construction the viewing angles are vastly improved and the negative grey inversion (colour change at the acute viewing angles) as seen on the standard displays is virtually undetectable by the naked eye. No longer does the user have to check for 6 o’clock or 12 o’clock viewing angles, with the “O-Film” the display is now considered “Free of All” so the display can be used in both landscape and portrait modes and the right-way up or upside-down, potentially something that had to be considered in the past for applications requiring a specific viewing angle. The “O-Film” is not bulky, it adds only 0.1mm to the overall thickness of the display with both brightness and contrast uncompromised. The 5.0″ display can be supplied with and without a touch option, 4-Wire resistive being the first touch technology to be used with a Projected Capacitive version being introduced later this year.

The “O-Film” technology provides a cheaper alternative to IPS TFT LCD panels with the added benefit that it can basically be added to any standard TFT LCD giving IPS like optical performance without the high cost and in many instances large MOQs that are associated with IPS TFT LCD.
