The new letterbox format TFT LCDs are helping design engineers make the transition from traditional monochrome LCD to full colour. One such model is our 8.8″ (S88SWX03) TFT from our partner CDTECH, this model has an aspect ratio of 4:1 with a pixel resolution of 1280 x 320. A high brightness LED backlight delivering 600 cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and wide viewing angles of 150° on the horizontal axis and 145° on the vertical gives the display a very good optical performance in all lighting conditions.
