Our partner Woosim are adding another compact thermal printer to their already extensive mobile thermal printer range. Their latest 2″ WSP-R231 follows along in the same design vein as the very successful WSP-R240 & WSP-R241 printers. The R231 is extremely compact with an overall size of just 79.5mm x 104.3mm x 36.5mm offering one of the smallest footprints on the market today for any 2″ printer. Its rugged construction enables it to withstand a drop on to hard flooring from a height of 1.5M plus it is very lightweight weighing just 200g, some 30g lighter than one its closest competition. Whilst the printer is small Woosim have not compromised on its performance, with a print speed of 100mm/sec and a high resolution of 203dpi (8dots/mm) resolution excellent quality graphics and barcodes can be printed with ease. The R231’s built-in memory is also far in excess of its nearest rival with a Flash Memory of 8MB, RAM of 16MB and Buffer of 1MB.
The printer comes with a full USB 2.0 interface plus Bluetooth 3.0 and is compatible with Android & Blackberry (SDK Codes) devices plus Windows XP/7/8/CE and Linux operating systems. The re-chargeable battery pack (7.4VDC / 1100mAh – Li-0n) provides 1hrs continuous printing and is charged to full capacity in just 4hrs by the supplied AC charger or optional in-vehicle charger. The printer is capable of printing on a standard thermal paper roll (max roll diameter 30mm) or label stock making the printer ideal for mobile epos or warehousing applications to name just two. Standard sensors within the printer to aid usage are the usual paper empty, cover open and black mark. The WSP-R231 can also be provided with an integral Magnetic Card Swipe Reader (MSR) capable of triple track reading (1,2 & 3 tracks).
