At Crystal Display Systems Limited (CDS), we are proud to announce that we are actively working towards meeting the rigorous standards required to achieve JOSCAR accreditation. This strategic step reflects our ongoing commitment to quality, compliance, and performance, particularly in the aerospace, defence, security, and law enforcement sectors, where customer expectations demand the highest operational excellence.
As CDS continues to supply advanced industrial and embedded display solutions to critical applications worldwide, aligning with the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR) is a natural evolution of our quality and compliance strategy.
JOSCAR (Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register) is an industry-recognised collaborative tool used by major defence, aerospace, and security primes—including BAE Systems, Leonardo, Rolls-Royce, MBDA, and Thales—to assess and validate suppliers against a unified set of compliance and capability criteria.
More than just a box-ticking exercise, JOSCAR ensures that suppliers meet the highest standards of quality, transparency, and risk management. This enables smoother and more efficient procurement processes for buyers and a higher standard of service delivery from approved vendors.
At CDS, our embedded displays, rugged panel PCS, touchscreen solutions, and industrial computing technologies are increasingly being specified in mission-critical environments—from military command systems and air traffic control to secure access systems and defence-grade HMIS.
These sectors demand more than technical innovation; they require assurance of ethical business practices, security protocols, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance. Working towards JOSCAR allows CDS to:
In short, JOSCAR accreditation is an endorsement of our credibility, capability, and commitment to delivering products that meet both performance and compliance expectations.
The JOSCAR assessment framework is divided into two levels, each designed to assess different aspects of a company’s operations depending on its risk profile and the nature of its supplied products.
🔹 Level 1 – Foundational Company Information
At this initial stage, CDS must provide key corporate documentation that includes:
This level ensures that CDS meets the minimum professional and ethical standards expected by Tier 1 suppliers and public sector defence organisations.
Given our role in providing embedded electronics and displays for use in high-reliability environments, CDS is also preparing for Level 2, which involves submitting evidence across a broader range of categories:
✅ 1. Quality & Assurance
We maintain a quality-first approach supported by our ISO 9001:2015 certification, rigorous quality control procedures, and traceability systems. These are essential in ensuring every unit shipped meets both design and durability standards.
✅ 2. Environmental Responsibility
CDS is committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable manufacturing practices. We are aligned with ISO 14001 principles and continue to invest in responsible sourcing, waste reduction, and product lifecycle management.
✅ 3. Cyber Security
In a world where data and infrastructure are under constant threat, CDS supports strong cybersecurity frameworks. We are implementing controls in line with Cyber Essentials, and our team actively follows GDPR compliance across all customer and supplier interactions.
✅ 4. Health & Safety
Workplace safety and employee wellbeing remain a top priority at CDS. We provide Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), safety training, and maintain a live H&S management system consistent with industry best practices.
✅ 5. Legal & Ethical Standards
CDS operates with integrity and full transparency, underpinned by our:
✅ 6. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Beyond commercial success, we are committed to our role in the broader community. CDS supports initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and sustainability, both internally and through our supply chain.
By aligning ourselves with the JOSCAR framework, CDS is enhancing our value proposition in several ways:
This helps our customers to minimise risk while gaining confidence in the quality, reliability, and security of our display solutions.
Achieving JOSCAR accreditation is more than a formal milestone for CDS—it’s a reflection of our long-term vision: to be a trusted, compliant, and high-performing partner for customers in the most demanding sectors.
As we continue to expand our product range and technical capabilities, particularly in the embedded and ruggedised systems space, this accreditation will demonstrate our readiness to deliver at the highest level.
We are proud to be working toward the industry-recognised benchmarks that JOSCAR represents and are confident it will reinforce our commitment to quality, service, and excellence across every aspect of our business.
