Modern fast-food chain Easta in San Francisco uses technology to automate the ordering and pick-up processes resulting in the whole experience being achieved through displays with no staff members involved.
Customers can download an app to order their food and the restaurant also has iPads inside for people to use. After orders are placed customers have to wait by a wall of display boxes with transparent LCDs as the lids. A screen lets customers know when their order has been placed and the number of the box where their food will arrive in. Animated videos play on the screens whilst customers wait for their order to arrive in one of the display boxes.
