Overview

Summary

A global engineering and technology company wanted to transform the entrance area of its new European headquarters into an immersive visitor experience centre. The objective was to create a space that showcases products, corporate achievements, sustainability initiatives, and real-time operational data while delivering a memorable visual experience for customers, investors, and employees.

Project Background

The client initially planned to use a combination of LCD video walls, printed graphics, and touchscreen kiosks. During concept development, it became clear that the proposed solution would not provide the impact, flexibility, or seamless visual experience required. Crystal Display Systems was engaged to develop a next-generation LED display environment.

Client Objectives

• Create a high-impact digital experience.
• Present engineering and product information in an engaging format.
• Support corporate presentations and events.
• Enable interactive visitor engagement.
• Provide future-proof technology with simplified content management.
• Integrate seamlessly with the building architecture.

The Challenge

The project team encountered several challenges. Visitors would be positioned very close to the display surfaces, requiring exceptionally high image quality. The architect specified a curved feature wall that followed the building’s organic design language. The installation area also had limited access for service behind the display. In addition, multiple content sources must operate simultaneously while maintaining perfect synchronisation throughout the visual environment.

Research and Industry Inspiration

The concept drew inspiration from a number of successful immersive LED deployments seen within corporate experience centres, museums, and innovation hubs. Industry case studies demonstrated that immersive LED environments outperform traditional LCD installations by delivering seamless visuals, increased audience engagement, interactive functionality, and greater flexibility for future content development. Similar projects highlighted the importance of fine-pixel-pitch LED technology, integrated content management, and close collaboration between architectural and technology teams.

Crystal Display Systems Solution

Crystal Display Systems proposed a fully integrated immersive LED solution comprising:

• A 12-metre-wide curved LED feature wall.
• Fine pixel pitch 1.5mm LED technology for close viewing distances.
• Interactive touch and gesture-based visitor experiences.
• Real-time dashboard integration.
• Centralised content management system.
• Front-service maintenance design.
• Redundant power and signal architecture.
• Advanced colour calibration and image processing.

Technical Design

Display Configuration:
• Main Curved LED Wall: 12m × 3m
• Pixel Pitch: 1.5mm
• Resolution: Approximately 7680 × 1920 pixels
• Brightness: 800 nits
• Refresh Rate: 3840Hz+
• Front-Service Access
• 24/7 Operational Capability

Control System:
• Network-based content management.
• Multi-source presentation support.
• Remote monitoring and diagnostics.
• Automated scheduling and content deployment.

Implementation Strategy

Crystal Display Systems worked closely with architects, consultants, and content creators from the earliest design stages. A detailed digital twin of the installation was created to validate sightlines, structural loading, content mapping, and maintenance access before manufacturing commenced. The front-service LED architecture eliminated the need for rear access while preserving the aesthetic integrity of the lobby.

Results

Following completion, the visitor experience centre became the focal point of the headquarters. Customer engagement times increased significantly during guided tours. The seamless LED canvas enabled product demonstrations, executive presentations, and interactive storytelling within a single platform. The flexible content management system allowed marketing teams to update messaging without requiring specialist technical support.

Business Benefits

  • Stronger corporate brand presentation.
    • Enhanced visitor engagement.
    • Reduced maintenance requirements.
    • Improved flexibility for future campaigns.
    • Lower total cost of ownership compared with multiple standalone display systems.
    • Scalable platform for future expansion.

Conclusion

This theoretical project demonstrates how Crystal Display Systems can solve complex visual communication challenges using advanced LED technology. By combining fine-pixel-pitch LED displays, architectural integration, interactive technologies, and robust content management, the company delivered a future-ready immersive environment that transformed a conventional corporate lobby into a powerful brand and engagement platform.
