That’s why when Richard McKay, our newcomer from the CDS US office in New York, touched down in Rochester for a four-day immersion into the world of CDS, we were determined to make every moment count.
Starting the week right
Monday morning dawned bright and early as Richard stepped into our UK headquarters, eager to meet the team and dive deep into the ethos and practices of our company. With a packed schedule ahead, we wasted no time in acquainting him with every facet of CDS. From the bustling warehouse to the strategic intricacies of sales and marketing, Richard absorbed it all, gaining invaluable insights and forging connections with his new colleagues.
Its never all work and no play at CDS
As Tuesday rolled in, the momentum only grew stronger. Meetings and introductions filled the day, ensuring Richard had a comprehensive understanding of our operations and culture. But it wasn’t all work and no play. In the evening, the entire team gathered at the local Millers and Carters for a hearty meal, laughter, and camaraderie, laying the foundation for the bonds that would define our journey together.
Tourists in London
Midweek marked a shift towards adventure as we embarked on a thrilling exploration of London’s iconic landmarks. Starting with a leisurely pub crawl to imbibe the city’s vibrant spirit, we then delved into history with a tour of the Tower of London, marvelled at the solemn beauty of the horse guards, and soaked in the grandeur of the Houses of Parliament. Yet, amidst the sightseeing and storytelling, the essence of our trip remained unchanged – to welcome Richard into our fold with open arms and unwavering support.

As the final day dawned, a sense of accomplishment mingled with bittersweet farewells. Richard’s brief but impactful visit had not only enriched his understanding of CDS but had also strengthened the bonds of camaraderie within our team.
