The UK's First Tesla Powerwall 3 Install is at CDS
As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental improvement, CDS is proud to announce that we are one of the first companies in the UK to install the Tesla Powerwall 3 storage battery. This cutting-edge technology marks a significant step forward in our mission to harness renewable energy and reduce our carbon footprint.
Our Technical Operations Director explained the innovation behind this new system: “This innovative tech integrates with our three-phase AC grid supply and allows us to either use or store the sun’s rays in real-time.” Thanks to Tesla’s Premium Installers, The Little Green Energy Company, the Powerwall 3 seamlessly works with our existing solar PV array. This integration means we can now store 100% of the solar energy we generate, maximising our use of clean energy and minimising reliance on the grid.
At CDS, our headquarters already run entirely on renewable energy contracts. Since 2021, our solar PV system has produced over 42,198 kWh of energy, saving approximately 16 metric tons of CO2. With the addition of the Tesla Powerwall 3, we take a significant step toward our goal of grid independence, ensuring that we can store excess energy during peak sunlight hours for use when the sun isn’t shining. This not only supports our sustainability objectives but also strengthens our energy security.
