Embedded SMART UART Displays

Introduction to DWIN Embedded SMART UART Displays

The CDS Smart UART display lineup, also known as intelligent displays, offers a diverse range starting from a compact 1.3” with a resolution of 240×240, scaling up to a sizable 21.5” boasting a full 2K HD resolution of 1920×1080. This comprehensive range covers all the essential display sizes in-between, with additional options such as bar (stretch) and circular variants. Thanks to our partnership with leading TFT display manufacturers, we ensure a robust and consistent supply while staying agile in introducing new displays and cutting-edge display technologies to the embedded systems market through CDS’s Smart Display range. Our displays can be tailored to meet specific requirements, available both with and without touch functionality, offering a choice between resistive and capacitive touch technologies. Furthermore, we provide a full custom cover plate service to accommodate unique design needs.

The displays feature both TN and wide view IPS technology, delivering wide viewing angles and consistent image quality across all viewing directions. At the heart of the Smart UART Display range is a dual-core processor based on the stable 8051 architecture plus a powerful development software tool, DGUS, which allows system designers to design and build their graphical user interface (including touch functionality) by importing images, fonts and music files from popular software programmes, vastly reducing your development time. All the displays feature 16MB of NOR FLASH memory, expandable to 64MB if required, with the control & communication to your application’s microprocessor via integrated UART interfaces, TTL/RS232, RS485 or CAN-Bus plus a wireless Wifi-10 interface is also available on some models

What is an Embedded SMART UART Display?

An embedded smart UART display is a TFT LCD with an integrated serial UART interface (TTL, RS232, RS485 or CAN-Bus), that allows simply device-to-device communication with a microprocessor via the TX and RX pins.  They can be easily incorporated into various electronic devices and systems. These displays typically feature advanced functionalities beyond just displaying information, often including touch capabilities and wireless connectivity.
