It is an original panel from the factory (as opposed to some panels having backlights replaced and made brighter) built to the highest Mitsubishi (MDTI) standards. These panels are sometimes branded as Optrex in the distribution channel and given a new part number but it is MDTI technology, and offer long term availability and compatibility.
